db Grafx Booster TTP Tested and Fully Operational

The db Grafx Booster TTP (Twin Turbo Power) is a sort of Turbo Booster clone but without the memory features; it strictly focuses on the A/V output of the TurboGrafx-16 and PC-Engine. The name Twin Turbo Power comes from the fact that the db Grafx Booster adds two video output capabilities to the TurboGrafx-16 and PC-Engine: CVBS video (i.e. the yellow cable) and RGB SCART. It also gives TurboGrafx-16 and PC-Engine owners the ability to hear their games in glorious stereo audio!

CVBS Video + Stereo Audio

The CVBS video is available by two means: regular RCA connectors (yellow, white and red) and through a standard Sega Genesis model 2 A/V cable. Note that you'll need to make sure you have the stereo version of the Genesis 2 cable as mono audio is not supported by the db Grafx Booster TTP.

RGB Video + Stereo Audio

The RGB video is available through the Genesis 2 A/V cable, you'll need to get a Genesis 2 cable which supports RGB such as this one from retrogamingcables. Both CVBS video and the pure SYNC signal are provided on the Genesis 2 A/V connector which should allow great compatibility with both pure SYNC and CSYNC televisions and YPbPr converters.

To summarize, the db Grafx Booster can be connected to a TV set via:
  • RCA yellow, white and red cables
  • Genesis 2 stereo A/V cable
  • Genesis 2 RGB cable

Release Date

db Grafx Booster TTP should go on sale sometime in mid November. A dedicated product page will be created along with high quality screenshots and comparisons. Below you'll find pictures of each setup showing full functionality.
